What is it like to study this course and how will I be assessed?


This course prepares you to work effectively and safely in an electrotechnical environment and is ideal for anyone who wants to become a fully qualified electrician.
The course consists of classroom based theory and practical sessions in the workshop. Assessment will be through a practical exercises.
What topics will I study?
You will study a number of units including working effectively and safely in an electronically environment, the principles of technology, application of health and safety and electrical principles and the installation of electricity in buildings and structures. You will be required to demonstrate safe working practices. Functional Skills are essential units of this course.

Units will cover:
  • health and safety in building services engineering
  • principles of electrical science
  • electrical installations technology
  • installation of wiring systems and enclosures
  • communication within building services engineerin


What experiences will I get?
Spend the day at a trade show looking at the latest tools and equipment. You will also benefit from strong industry links, site visits and a range of guest speakers.
